Urgent passport renewal

1-Day Premium

For adult passport renewals only. The earliest appointment is 2 days after applying, subject to availability. Hand in your old passport at the appointment and collect your new passport 4 hours later.

1-Week Fast Track

For renewals, changes to personal details, replacing a lost, stolen or damaged passport, and child passports. You cannot use it for a first adult passport. The earliest appointment is the next day after applying; your new passport is delivered by courier 1 week after the appointment.

How to book

• Apply and book only through GOV.UK urgent passport services.
• Have your old passport, if you have one, a digital photo and a payment card ready.
• Check current fees and eligibility on GOV.UK; urgent services cost more than standard renewal.
• If you have already applied, do not submit a second urgent application. Contact the Passport Adviceline for guidance.

Do you need urgent renewal?

A passport can be unexpired but still fail a destination's entry rules. Read the six-month passport rule guide and check your travel dates before choosing a renewal service.

Emergency travel documents

If you are abroad and your passport is lost, stolen, damaged or expired, check eligibility for an emergency travel document. UK urgent passport appointments are not available for applications from abroad.
